Takeaway Basket Information 01/05/2020 -
An opportunity to paint in your own home, in your own time.
With a Takeaway Pottery Basket you can decide what you'd like to paint. There will be no extra charge for borrowing a takeaway basket. Your pottery costs need to total more then £20, for baskets needing to be returned for glaze and firing you will be required to pay a £20 deposit (which you will get back when the basket is returned). The cost of the pottery is what you would pay on the shelves in the studio. Pottery items range from £5 to £40.
Takeaway Baskets can either be collected from the studio at an agreed upon time or it can be delivered locally for free in Thirsk. There will be a small delivery cost outside this radius. We are happy to delivery to Ripon, Easingwold, Northallerton, Bedale, Boroughbridge and surrounding areas.
The following Takeaway Baskets are available
1. Pottery - Underglaze paints - to be returned for firing and glazing. Prices start from £5.
2. Pottery - Acrylic paints - kept at home. Prices start from £5
3. Pottery - Foam clay - kept at home. Prices start from £5
4. Wooden Figures - Foam Clay - kept at home. Prices start from £5
5. Air dry clay - Acrylic paint - kept at home. £10 per kit
6. Diamond art craft kits - kept at home. Between £6 - £8
There is a minimum spend of £20 on Pottery kits and total orders requiring delivery.
Unused Acrylic paint and Foam Clay can be kept and used again for other projects. Washing of brushes etc is simply by hot soapy water for Acrylic paints. Underglaze paints just need water for washing brushes etc.
Delivery drop off & return collections will commence on a Thursday to start with. Collection from the studio is possible by prior agreed time.
Minimal contact will be adhered to at all times for social distancing guidelines. Baskets and equipment will be disinfected prior to all baskets/kits being distributed.
Baskets will be dropped/ collected off at doorstep deliveries and collected/drop off at studio entrance only to avoid any risks.
When you have completed your masterpieces, those needing to be returned to the studio to be glazed and fired as normal will have a guide of a up to 2 week turnaround on firing and glazing.
Alternatively, you can ask us to make up a kit for you. Just let us know the age, what sort of items you would like to paint and what you would like to spend.
There is only a limited number of baskets available for Underglaze painting that require returning for glaze and firing. First come, first served. We can offer advanced bookings for Takeaway baskets.
We would also be happy to post out kits further afield if needed. Postage would be with Hermes and will vary depending on weight of items. Please enquire should you need further details.
What's in the Kits?
Within our takeaway baskets there will be a range of different equipment to use to make it feel like you are painting in the studio.
The Underglaze painting kits will include the following which all need to be returned to the studio.

Selected pottery - 2 paint brushes - selection of plastic lidded paint pots.
Pottery Foam Clay kits
Selected pottery - selection of coloured foam clay in airtight pots
Wooden Figures - Foam Clay kits
Chosen figures - selection of coloured foam clay in airtight pots
Diamond Art Craft kits
Full kits with all you need to complete your crafts.
Air Dry Clay - Acrylic paints
500gms of clay - pots of acrylic paints - 2 brushes.
Some kits will require you to use your own items such as table cloth, aprons, water pots, kitchen tools like cutters, rolling pin, cutlery etc.
